REMEMBERING JWANENG'S MOTSHWARI RASEITEO

Sitting in the lounge at the Walmont Grand Palm hotel in Gaborone, I couldn't help overhearing some buzz about "the Jwaneng Accident" and the "closing of the mine." It didn't take long to find out that over the weekend, a 34-year-old Debswana employee, Motshwari Raseiteo, had tragically met his death when the Jwaneng diamond mine's mining pit experienced a slope failure, literally burying the vehicle Raseiteo was driving under tonnes of rubble.
