| The saga about the 600 fraudulent undisclosed synthetic diamonds, which was first disclosed in Diamond Intelligence Briefs No.709 (May 21, 2012), under the title "Synthetics Specifically ‘Made to Defraud'", received another twist in recent days in the Belgian press. Quoting St?phanie Chom? of the Antwerp police, the reports disclosed that the 600 synthetic diamonds which were impounded by the Belgian police from the offices of Su-Raj Diamonds NV in Belgium, turn out to have been natural diamonds. The police now face an enormous dilemma, particularly due to the ongoing FBI investigation in New York, since without evidence there won't be a trial and the perpetrators who have betrayed the trust of their fellow diamantaires will simply get away with it. |
