| South Africa's first major fully vertically integrated diamond beneficiation enterprise, co-funded by the government and established by idealistic black-empowerment entrepreneur Mohseen Moosa, has closed its doors. Any frequent traveler to Johannesburg is familiar with the beautiful African Romance diamond jewelry store in the Johannesburg airport departure hall, just next to the stairs to the business class VIP lounges. It was one of three stores in an organization that also had a large manufacturing plant and sales showrooms. But the African Romance is now over. |
