| Kristall Production Corporation, based in Smolensk, Russia, has celebrated its 50th anniversary, having been founded on March 1, 1963. The company is one of the largest polishing companies in Europe, specializing in top quality cutting and polishing and creating the Russian Cut. Its diamonds conform to Triple Excellent standards, the company said in a media statement. Just three years after being established, Kristall polished its millionth diamond. So far, the company has polished 80.5 million diamonds weighing 9.3 million carats. The firm, which remains government owned, employs 2,200 people, and has overseas trading offices in Antwerp, New York, Hong Kong and Dubai. |
