|Laboratory-grown (synthetic) diamond producer Scio Diamond Technology Corporation (Scio) has announced that it has been granted a new U.S. patent for a unique diamond-growing process described as "Gemstone Production from Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) Diamond Plate". The patent, granted on January 5th, is reportedly the 28th to be awarded to Scio.
"This is the latest addition to our extensive patent portfolio, which ensures broad intellectual property protection for our industry-leading diamond manufacturing processes," explained Scio's CEO Gerald McGuire. "Our exclusive processes allow us to grow brilliant, beautiful diamonds that are identical to mined diamonds that grew beneath the earth for centuries." "Our proprietary CVD process allows us to produce stunning diamonds in color and size combinations that are seldom found in mines, such as fancy color pink diamonds that are prized for fine jewelry," McGuire continued.
