|The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) reports that the Israel Diamond Pavilion at the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair will feature 84 Israeli companies, with an additional 15 Israeli companies exhibiting at different locations at the show venue. This will make the Israeli diamond industry one of the largest national exhibitors at the show.
Four of the IDI's ‘Find Your Diamond' terminals will be available at the IDI Lounge, located at the heart of the pavilion, says the IDI. The trade show search platform innovated by IDI, which enables buyers to search a computerized database of all goods offered by Israeli exhibitors at the show, has been expanded to include a Chinese version in addition to the English one. Buyers will also reportedly be able to access the system on their smartphones, as well as at the dedicated terminals.
IDI Chairman Shmuel Schnitzer says he is cautiously optimistic about the show, despite the challenging conditions faced by the industry. "...We believe in Asian markets and we are there for the long haul," he said.IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar notes that, "Hong Kong is a very important part of our marketing strategy and we participate in four shows during the year. The September show is always the most important since it sets the tone for the upcoming holiday season. This show attracts buyers from all over Asia - Hong Kong, China, India, Singapore and even the U.S. and Australia. As usual our exhibitors will work hard at the show and I believe they will be rewarded."
