|Russian mining company Alrosa has announced that it will be holding an international auction for the sale of special size rough diamonds of 10.8+ carats in the Eurasian Diamond Centre in Vladivostok. The auction is scheduled to begin this week on Monday, October 16th, and continue through to October 27th.
A total of 67 companies from Belgium, India, Israel, China and the United States have reportedly applied to participate in the auction, where 72 gem-quality diamond lots will be on offer. The total weight of the diamonds up for auction is 1,170 carats, with the largest stone weighing 47.55 carats.
All the auctioned stones were mined from the deposits of PJSC ALROSA, and its subsidiaries - JSC Almazy Anabara and PJSC ALROSA-Nyurba, says the announcement. Alrosa's United Selling Organization (USO) and the Alrosa branch in Vladivostok are the organizers of the auction. The results of the auction will be summed up on October 30th.
