The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) is considering developing a chain-of-custody certification initiative as an optional complement to the existing RJC certification of responsible business practices. The RJC prepared an initial discussion paper on the topic and is inviting industry members to comments on the paper and provide feedback on it. The issues and options associated with chain-of-custody in the diamond and gold jewelry supply chain are under review, with the goal of generating discussions among the RJC and its stakeholders.
