During an education program at the upcoming JCK-Las Vegas Show, a panel discussion will be dedicated to challenges facing the Kimberley Process and new initiatives the international body is taking to ensure consumer confidence in the diamond trade. Panelists for the discussion, titled "Diamond Dialogue - the Kimberley Process and Consumer Confidence," will include WDC President Eli Izhakoff; Brad Brooks-Rubin, U.S. State Department; Matt Runci, President of Jewelers of America and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Responsible Jewelry Council; Cecilia L. Gardner, President and CEO of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee; Noora Jamsheer of the UN Panel of Experts on Cote D'Ivoire; John Hall, Corporate Relations Manager at Rio Tinto; and representatives of NGOs active in the industry. The discussion will be moderated by Dorothee Gizenga, Director of the Diamond Development Initiative. The event, sponsored by the Diamond Information Center (DIC), is scheduled for June 3, 2010, 12:30 P.M.-1:45 P.M. at the Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center. |
