Angola's diamond exports for October 2015 were 624,000 carats, down 16.9 percent compared with October 2014, reports Macauhub, quoting figures from Angola's Ministry of Geology and Mines. Revenue from the exports was US$86.1 million, a drop of 40.4 percent compared with the similar period in 2014, achieving an average price per carat of only US$138, compared with US$192 per carat in October 2014. Rough diamond production for October was 800,000 carats, reports the news source, with 576,776 carats produced by the Catoca mine in the Lunda Norte province. |
