DIB 892: THE COLLAPSE OF TRUST-BASED COMMERCE |
13 August 2017 |
In this issue: DIB explores the consequences of the diamond producers policies on the midstream industry’s relationship with the banking sector, which is undergoing an escalating deterioration. Namely, we look at the near catastrophic policies (and/or implementation) of marketing strategies that compromised the integrity of the diamond pipeline and drove up the midstream’s banking debt.
DIB asks: How did a trust-based industry, wholly dependent on trust-based financing, get to such a calamitous reality? Why are several banks exiting (or downsizing exposure) all at once? This will lead to the main question: Where do we go from here?
