The 2008 diamond pipeline reflects the coalescence of two dramatically different periods within a single year: nine months of buoyancy marked by sharply rising rough diamond prices and market speculation, followed by three months of crisis where on the rough supply and manufacturing sides business came to an almost total halt. |
